Game Media Networks, a Digital Bros Group subsidiary, is responsible for strategic development of production, as well as commercialisation of digital entertainment game content for television, internet and mobile platforms through the use of the most modern communication technologies available: on-line gaming, mobile gaming, e-commerce, d-commerce and IP-TV.
Game Media Networks' mission is to become a point of reference in the world of videogame digital entertainment through the purchase and development of content for all new media platforms: on-line gaming, mobile gaming, e-commerce, d-commerce and IP-TV.
Pioneers of online gaming, Digital Bros has always adopted a corporate philosophy that looks to the future.
The company was, in fact, one of the first market players to understand the potentials of this segment and to invest in it. Thanks to its ability to anticipate trends and to Game Media Networks, today Digital Bros represents an international point of reference for online gaming.
Greatly ahead of its time, the Group was one of the first to bring the so-called role games to Europe, accessible online in pay-per-play mode.
After having signed up, this type of pay-per-play online gaming allows thousand of European players to meet and interact with one another.
One of this structure's most important missions is to encourage the development of online communities through the use of specific strategies that support continuous growth.
A perfect example is the massive multiplayer online game, developed over the past few years, in which several players can challenge one another at the same time from different parts of the world.
The market for this game is rapidly expanding and in 2007 is expected to grow some 28 percent over the previous year.
The significant expansion of this segment is supported by cross promotion activities and through Internet and Mobile channel synergies.
Furthermore, in February 2007 the company RCS DB Games, product of a joint venture agreement between Digital Bros and the RCS Group in the online entertainment business, was constituted. The joint venture will be held 51 percent by RCS Quotidiani SpA (a subsidiary of RCS MediaGroup) and 49 percent by Game Media Networks (a wholly owned subsidiary of the Digital Bros Group).
The primary activity will be the creation, management and development of an online and mobile gaming portal in Italy. The objective is to build a vertical game site that becomes a point of reference in Italy for the world of gaming, both in terms of on-line games and information/E-Commerce.
Game Media Networks also has outlined a strategy for the development of an important European online gaming project:
- gain a greater share of the rapidly expanding European market for massive multiplayer online games;
- take advantage of off-line distribution in France and the United Kingdom in order to support on-line activities;
- be a pioneer with a European MMO games portal;
- develop ways of collaborating with high traffic local portals;
- create an international structure in order to meet the new European challenge.
